Job Description: As a Long-Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) with [Nursing Agency Name], you will be an essential member of our team, providing compassionate and personalized care to residents in long-term care facilities. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for residents based on their individualized care plans
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Monitor and assess resident health status, recognizing and responding to changes in condition promptly
  • Provide wound care, medication management, and other nursing interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement holistic care plans
  • Support residents in activities of daily living and promote independence and quality of life
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records and documentation
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards at all times
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, staff education, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in the province of Nova Scotia
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience working as an RN in long-term care or geriatric nursing
  • Knowledge of gerontological nursing principles and best practices
  • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate and person-centered care to residents and their families
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining professional competence through continuing education and self-directed learning
